Running it, start to finish

  1. Paste the transcript or notes with the attendee list and today's date.
  2. Check section 2 for UNASSIGNED and NO DATE entries.
  3. Post the two-line summary, and chase the section 5 gaps before they age.

What you get back

The output this produces, every time.

  • Separates decisions from commitments from open questions from things merely discussed.
  • Refuses to invent an owner or a date, flagging UNASSIGNED and NO DATE instead.
  • Ends with the ambiguities, so the gaps are the last thing the reader sees rather than the first thing they miss.

Getting better results

Where this usually goes wrong, and how to avoid it.

  • Give it today's date. so 'by end of next week' resolves to an actual date. Without it, relative deadlines survive into the summary and mean nothing a month later.
  • Paste the raw transcript. rather than your own tidied notes where you can. Tidying is where the distinction between agreement and commitment usually gets lost.
  • Send section 5 back to the room. The unassigned commitments are the ones that will not happen, and the meeting is the cheapest place to fix that.
