- Read section 1 before anything else. The distance between the argument you made and the one you intended is the whole finding, and no amount of line editing closes it.
- Trust the real-opening call. Cutting your first three paragraphs feels wrong and is usually right. The run-up was for you, not the reader.
- Do the structural pass twice. if section 7 says so. A line edit on a draft that still needs restructuring is work you will throw away.
